Mini Review: Bluerapa Thai, Edinburgh
Zipped through to Edinburgh for a wee girls’ day type affair on Tuesday. Absolutely ravenous when we arrived so we were lured in to Bluerapa Thai by the board outside their door proclaiming ‘2 course lunch: £5.95’. Hard to say no, aye?

It’s really simple inside, just a few tables, plain painted walls, desk at the back, door into the kitchen; but the smells had us following our noses like looney toon wolves. We all started with corn cakes, which Edinburgh friend Espie has had before and raved about. They were crispy and a bit greasy with light Thai flavours and so so good. I’m going to try and recreate at home.

I followed that with beef panang. It was a good sized portion for lunch, not too much. The beef was a little tough but sauce was rich and fragrant and a manageable level of spicy. Espie had a beef salad, which looked excellent and I would get next time.

It’s really close to Haymarket, so handy for your shopping trips or whatever.
